There are games you play, and then there are games you live in for a hundred hours. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is firmly in the second category — a sprawling, gorgeous continuation of Cloud Strife's story that takes everything the Midgar remake built and opens it up into vast explorable regions, from grasslands to coastlines, packed with side quests, minigames and moments fans will talk about for years.
If you played Remake and stopped at the edge of Midgar, this is the chapter where the adventure truly begins. The combat refines the real-time system with synergy skills between party members, the world rewards curiosity at every turn, and the story — without spoiling anything — goes places even longtime fans did not see coming.
